As Iot enthusiasts, we all depend on a basic set-up for our homes when it comes to home automation, network control or when you are simply in need of a (virtual) place for performing experiments. Until recently, most of us used Raspberry Pi computers to do the job, but they are hard to get these days and sometimes limiting in terms of compute power.

So it's time to look around for alternatives. There is no right or wrong when it comes to Home Lab either. As Thomas A. Edison once said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” We (namely Andreas Spiess and Lukas Haas) would therefore like to tell you about our experiences, our failures and our current solutions.

On the agenda are topics such as Proxmox, IOTstack, home assistant (HassOS) and portainer to name just a few. And according to the motto: “Show me your setup and I’ll raise you mine.“ , we are also looking forward to your home lab stories. We are certain there’s a lot more to learn through discussion.

Let's share our journeys, brainstorm on all the possibilities and learn from each other. And stay tuned if you want to get a cheaper, faster and prettier Raspberry replacement ;-)

Everybody is welcome. Speaking English and/or German is fine.
