Creative Thinking

A discussion about creativity is not only an exploration of artistry, novelty creation, and problem-solving, but it is most and foremost, the journey and the path towards creative thinking. We already mentioned in the previous meetup the importance of education in blooming our creativity, but we want to go even further and speak about mind-wandering (commonly known as daydreaming) and the underestimated wonder of boredom!
We will first explore our personal experiences and attitude towards creativity, then we will abstract from there:
- What is creativity for you? A series of activities (playing music, drawing...), a state of mind, an innate ability, or something we can nurture?
- Mind-wandering and letting our thoughts flow freely to get willingly lost in the realm of our imagination. How is it related to imagination and creativity? Especially in a world hungry for productivity and over-activity.
- Shall we let our children be sometimes bored, instead of over-filling their schedule, to let them mind wander and develop their creativity?
- Or simply why are we creative? Where does it come from, and what is it for?

- Commit to learning, not debating. Comment in order to share information, not to persuade.

- Avoid no-shows to be fair towards the participants in the waitlist and the organizer.
- Avoid showing up to the event if you are not part of the attendee's list to be fair towards the waitlist members and the organizer.
- Be mindful and present during the discussion and avoid being on your phone - after all, it's the beauty of a face-to-face social interaction.
