Our Inner child
Details
Do you remember how you were used to taking pleasure in the little things of life as a child? The sensational colours of a spectacular rainbow, the joy of jumping on puddles, and the relish of the last piece of chocolate? Or how staring long enough on the clouds drew you on an imaginative journey of fantastic creatures?
As we grow older, our inner child tends to shrink, as it gets tainted and wounded by the hardship of life, our fears and expectations. Some have kept (or try to keep) their childlike (not childish) attitude towards the little things, others get easily comfortable in their comfort zone that prevents them from continuously exploring the wonders of life. So let's explore together, in this new year, our (hopefully) growing inner child with the following questions:
- What does "inner child" mean to you? Is it incompatible with our notion of being an adult?
- What do you miss from your childhood?
- What is it to be an adult, and what kind of adult would you like to be?
- How do you keep your childlike attitude to life?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of keeping our inner child?
- Does our society foster this attitude?
Looking forward to meeting you all for an inspiring conversation about our inner child! :)
To build together a fruitful, respectful and inspiring conversation, please be aware of the following ground rules:
- Listen respectfully, without interrupting.
- Listen actively and with an ear to understanding others' views.
- Comment on ideas, not individuals.
- Commit to learning, not debating. Comment in order to share information, not to persuade.
- Avoid blame, speculation, and inflammatory language.
- Allow everyone the chance to speak.
- Avoid no-shows to be fair towards the participants in the waitlist and the organizer.
- Avoid showing up to the event if you are not part of the attendees list to be fair towards the waitlist members and the organizer.
- Be mindful and present during the discussion and avoid being on your phone - after all, it's the beauty of a face-to-face social interaction.
