Discussion Evening - Self-Awareness

There's a magic mirror that, under the watcher's eye, unveils more than a simple facade. Its charming surface mirrors the mask we choose to show, to ourselves and others, yet its hidden side, like a vast ocean with falsely dark depths, reveals the most hidden corners of our being. It is only by daring to linger there, that we uncover an unexpected light: the light of our self-awareness and, by extension, of others.

We access our own minds through different channels, including self-reflection, introspection, and interactions with others who act as our mirrors. The paths are many. Let's then venture into the depths of our beings to explore this topic together.

How? I will first tell you the story of the enchanted mirror of reflection, from which we will delve into the following questions:

• What does self-awareness mean to you? How is it related to self-reflection and introspection?
• How do interactions with others serve as mirrors that reflect aspects of our selves we might not otherwise see?
• In your view, is self-awareness an innate trait or a skill that can be developed?
• How do cultural contexts influence the development and expression of self-awareness?
• In what ways has technology influenced our self-awareness and our ability to reflect? Consider social media, virtual interactions, and digital feedback mechanisms.
• How does language shape self-awareness ?
• What are the ethical implications of striving for greater self-awareness?
