Upstreaming ClangIR: Bridging AST and LLVM IR with MLIR, with Morris Hafner

In our September meetup Morris Hafner presents his work on upstreaming ClangIR. Morris is a senior software engineer at NVIDIA who works on Clang and nvc++

In this presentation, we will dive into ClangIR, a new high-level
intermediate representation that sits between the Clang AST and LLVM
IR. We will explore the overall architecture of the new code generator
and compilation pipelines, and the advantages we expect from a
language-specific high-level IR. Finally, we will cover the ongoing
work to upstream the incubator project into LLVM’s main branch.
