Pluggable Backends with Stefan Gränitz

Winter season kicks off with a presentation by Stefan Gränitz on LLVM backend plugins. Stefan works as consultant and freelance developer, supporting small/medium-sized companies to build and maintain LLVM-based technologies.

Earlier this year, LLVM's plugin interface gained the PreCodeGenCallback hook. It allows us to inject code before the backend pipeline or even replace the entire backend with a custom implementation. In this session we will discuss opportunities and limitation of the feature and see how clients have been adopting it in past and ongoing releases.
