Hi, I’m Kimberly, a local Realtor, 10-year Long Beach resident, and Head Explorer of The LB Edge. I started this group 3 years ago because even after living here for years, I realized there were still so many spots, experiences, and hidden gems I had not tried. I wanted to build a group for people who actually want to get out, do interesting things, and make real connections in the process.
The LB Edge is for adults who want more than just another generic meetup. This group is about unique local experiences, good conversation, and meeting people who are fun, social, and genuinely interested in exploring the city.
We focus on events that feel engaging, memorable, and worth leaving the house for. Sometimes that means trying a new spot, doing something a little different, or pairing one experience with another. The point is not just to attend something. It is to connect while doing it.
Events start with a quick Fun Fact Circle to break the ice and make meeting people easier.
Who: Adults ( 18 + only) who want to explore Long Beach, try new things, and meet other social, curious people. This group will probably feel like a good fit if you like good conversation, a little adventure, and doing something more interesting than sitting at home scrolling.
What: Unique and engaging experiences in Long Beach and nearby areas. Some events are active, some are relaxed, some are quirky, and some are just a great excuse to finally check out that place you have been meaning to try. We do all kinds of events! Beach outings, skating, yoga, tourist attractions, trivia, music, museums and aquariums, bingo, movies, axe throwing, full moon walks, and more!
Where: Mostly Long Beach, with occasional outings nearby.
When: Events are for the most part weekly and have between 15-60 attendees! Most events happen on weeknights, with some weekend events mixed in.
What to Expect: A group that values connection, curiosity, and actually interacting. This is not about showing up and standing around awkwardly. It is about having a shared experience that makes conversation easier and friendships more likely to happen.
*Please note that since many of these events have a limited number of spots, those who no-show to 3 or more events will be removed from the group. This helps keep spots open for people who genuinely want to attend.
The best way to get to know people here is simple: come regularly.

It's a bird, it's a plannnt? 🌿🌻🌵🌱City Nature Challenge 2026!
City Nature Challenge, 2745 Orange Ave, Long Beach, CA, USLet’s turn a simple walk into a mini nature adventure.
We’ll be outside in the sun joining the Office of Climate Action & Sustainability, getting some easy exercise, and using a plant ID app to discover, identify, and document the plants and flowers we see along the way. It’s surprisingly fun. You point your phone at a leaf or flower, the app helps identify it, and you can save what you find like your own little nature journal.Free to help, but you must pre-register here and sign a waiver here:

BRING:
- Your phone (with the plant ID app downloaded, if you want)
- Water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Curiosity and a little patience while we stop to scan cool plants
We’ll keep it chill and beginner-friendly. No plant knowledge needed. If you’ve ever walked past something pretty and thought “what IS that?” this is for you.

Come learn how to make classic boozy cocktails!🍸 Or turn your favorite classic cocktails into zero-proof mocktails and discover the world of non-alcoholic “spirits.”
Come join us in exploring this new world and learn how to make classic cocktails with or WITHOUT alcohol! In class, we will make the following:
- Old Fashioned
- Margarita
- Daiquiri
Our PRIVATE class is 90 minutes, with all materials included, PLUS a recipe book to record all the fun. Our Mixologist will lead everyone on how to make each of these three classic cocktails with or without alcohol and provide samples to taste. Yum!
Then you will get to experiment with different syrups, juices and bitters to create your own drink! Once your recipe is done, show us what you got as your craft your cocktail for the class, just like Tom Cruise in Top Shelf.
Samples of each cocktail or mocktail will be given out for all to taste and provide feedback.
Feel free to arrive early and grab some food next-door at Roxannes'. You're also welcome to head back over to Roxannes' with your new friends to close out the night.

45 Min Sunrise 🌅 Morning Walk 🚶♀️🚶 at the Beach 🌊
Galaxy Towers, 2999 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA, USLet’s start the day with friends, fresh air, and a beautiful ocean view. 🌊☀️ This is a feel-good morning walk where we’ll take in the scenery, get a little nature time, and ease into the day with good company. We’ll walk at a comfortable, steady pace and cover about 2 miles in around an hour, a nice start to your morning.
We’ll do quick get-to-know-you intros for the first 5 minutes (up to 10 minutes if we have a bigger group), then we’ll head out no later than 7:05–7:10 AM. Yes, 7 AM — please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time.
We’ll walk on the sand by the water if conditions allow. If the tide makes the sand too soft, we’ll switch to the path, but we’ll try for the water’s edge first.
Come for the ocean view, and the chance to meet some great people. 👟🌿
Meet-up spot: On the grass, next to the Galaxy Towers at the corner of Orizaba Ave & Ocean Blvd
Parking: Street parking on Ocean, plus plenty of neighborhood street parking nearby (around 1st & Orizaba)

Cinco de Sharko🦈 Night at the Aquarium!
Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA, US(FREE - but must register with the Aquarium) THEY WILL SELL OUT. DON'T WAIT TO GET TICKETS starting April 22nd.
What a better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo then with El Sharko 🦈, which technically in Spanish is el tiburón. The Aquarium of the Pacific holds Twilight Tuesdays throughout the summer. For these events, you are allowed into the exterior area near shark lagoon for free between 6 and 9 PM. You'll be able to touch the smaller sharks and get great views of the larger sharks and rays. The aquarium has snacks and drinks available for purchase. I have been to several of these evenings and they are FIN-tastic.However, these FREE events have gotten so popular that now they only allow a certain amount of people to attend. Which means you have to actually sign up and get a free pass.
