Come join us for a relaxed evening by the Neckar and experience the partial solar eclipse together!

We’ll meet at Neckarufer Neckarstadt-West, find a good open spot with a clear view toward the western horizon, and enjoy the sunset and eclipse together.

No previous astronomy knowledge is required. Whether you’re interested in astronomy, photography, meeting new people, or simply looking for something different to do on a summer evening — you’re welcome! ☀️🌙

🧭 Where will we look?

We’ll choose a spot with the clearest possible view toward the west / northwest.

Because the Sun will be very low near the horizon during the eclipse, an unobstructed view is especially important.

🎒 What to bring

• 🕶️ Certified solar eclipse glasses — essential
• 📱 Your phone or camera if you’d like to take photos
• 🧥 A light jacket in case it gets cool
• 🥤 Water or your favorite drink
• 🪑 A blanket or something to sit on, if you like

⚠️ Safety

Never look directly at the Sun without proper solar viewing protection.

Regular sunglasses, cameras without a proper solar filter, and improvised filters are not safe.

Please bring certified solar-viewing glasses if you want to observe the eclipse directly.
