Attraction: Why we desire who we desire?
Details
As humans, we are often attracted to the different qualities that other people have. This attraction can be driven by various physical or mental features that we like in others.
Often, we don't even know where our attraction comes from. Is it dictated by society, our upbringing, past relationship experiences, or nature? It's probably a combination of all these factors and many more.
Short-term sexual attraction can also be very different from long-term romantic attraction.
Romantic attraction can also be very different from platonic attraction.
It can also be strange. For example, sometimes it can go against our moral values, making us feel guilty about who we might be attracted to.
There is probably also a discrepancy between what we think the opposite gender finds attractive and what they actually find attractive.
Questions we could explore in this discussion:
What makes someone attractive to you?
Why do you think you are attracted to certain things?
Is there a big difference between your short-term sexual attraction and your long-term romantic attraction?
Do you ever feel guilty about who you are attracted to?
