FrontMuc meetup autumn edition

Details

Dear Frontiers,

We are happy to bring our amazing FrontMuc community back in Autumn at JetBrains.

Agenda

  • We begin with drinks and food at 18:30 at JetBrains' office
  • Talks start at 19:00, followed by some breaks for questions and networking

Talks:

1. "Microfrontends: Unraveling the Illusions" by David Leither, Chief Technologist at SQUER

By examining the term Microfrontends, and its inherent ambiguity, I will shed light on how we as a community misinterpreted some of the benefits we gain from this architectural style, leading to misconceptions and misdirection. We will explore that the core idea of micro frontends is not merely a technical gimmick; instead, they should be viewed as an organizational tool for scale. By dissecting various downsides associated with micro frontends, I aim to provide a realistic assessment of their viability and the different strategies for effective implementation.

2. "How to make user input pretty and functional" by Ekaterina Zaikina, Software Engineer at JetBrains (YouTrack)

In this presentation Ekaterina will make an overview of the different approaches to displaying wiki markup syntax using YouTrack as an example. YouTrack is a bug-tracker by JetBrains, it is a long-term project with over 10 years of history. Therefore, she would try to summarize all the experience, ideas, backward compatibility issues and other challenges that YouTrack-team have encountered in the project's history regarding this topic.

3. "Classname Helpers: An Alternative to React Components" by Andrey Grandilevskiy

Intro: Working with React, we've become accustomed to creating most UI elements using components. However, in our UI library, we encountered situations where this approach wasn't always convenient. In this presentation, I will talk about what Cn helpers are and how they have changed our approach to components.

Spots are limited. Register to get one for you and your colleagues and to ensure you will have your slice of pizza :)
