Hey Cortana - let's talk about Analytics!

Machine Learning or Data Science are one of today's hottest buzzwords. The scenarios in which Machine Learning can be applied are diverse and can range from predicting football scores to personalised recommendations in online shops to predictive maintenance in manufacturing.

In this geekette meeting, we will present Cortana Analytics Suite – an offering by Microsoft with which anyone can transform data into intelligent action. Cortana Analytics entails a variety of different services, including Cortana (a personal digital assistant) and Azure Machine Learning – all with the vision to democratise machine learning. Here, we will go through various scenarios in which the power of the cloud as well as Cortana are being leveraged to make applications more intelligent.

About the speakers:

Nicoleta Mihali is working as a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft Germany with a focus on natural user interface technologies, like Kinect and Cortana. She works with developers and students to help them learn how to design and build more personal and user-friendly apps for Windows 10.

Olivia Klose is Technical Evangelist at Microsoft Germany. She is focussing on all Data Insights and IoT in Microsoft Azure, including Big Data (HDInsight / Hadoop on Azure) and Azure Machine Learning, and is a frequent speaker at German and international conferences, such as TechEd Europe, PASS Summit and Technical Summit. Prior to joining Microsoft, she studied Computer Science with Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, the Technical University of Munich and IIT Bombay. Here, she focussed on Machine Learning in Medical Imaging.
