An evening of talks, conversations, food and drink!
How to build real-time image recognition with Apache Kafka - Tomas Neubauer
This talk presents an image recognition project that uses traffic cameras in London to collect video feeds from different parts of the city. The pipeline relies on Apache Kafka and other microservices to process the data in real time and uses machine learning to recognize what is depicted in the images. It then sends an alert for the specific objects in real-time and displays them on a map.
Tomas previously worked at McLaren as a technical lead on their Telemetry Analytics Platform, which was used in F1 and public transport. Tomas is now CTO of Quix, a stream processing platform for data teams.
Building a real time event analytics pipeline with Kafka, ksqlDB and Druid - Hellmar Becker
This talk shows how to analyze clickstream data from a publishing website using Kafka for delivery, ksqlDB for preprocessing, and Apache Druid for real time OLAP.
More speaker info to come. Interested in speaking? We're always on the look out for people who could share an interesting story around something they're building in the streaming/real time space. First-time speakers are welcome! Email me - theo@quix.ai.
