useR Hackathon Munich

We would like to invite you to the first "useR Hackathon Munich" organised by the Munich useR Group. We will sit together and program in groups on some R challenges. The next meeting will be organised 6-8 weeks later and the groups can present their results.

Date: Friday, 26.7.2013 starting at 14:00
This date is before the school summer brake and already in the summer break of Universities in Bavaria.

Timeline:
14:00 - 15:00 Pitching Session: everyone is invited to propose ONE topic. The participants will select 3-5 topics and work within groups of 4-5 people.
15:00 - 18:00 Programming Session
18:00 - 19:00 Session end and Get Together

Preparation:

Please bring your laptop with the latest R version (> 3.0) installed. Get used to GIT to contribute with your team members (e.g., try one of these http://sixrevisions.com/resources/git-tutorials-beginners/ ). Please start thinking or discussing about your R challenge. This can be a completely new question or some code which has to be fixed or improved.
