🌓 Shadow & Projection: When nothing gets accepted or rejected 🌓

We aim to recognize our unlimited true Self — finding “that, by knowing which all else becomes known.” A powerful motivation on this quest is the prospect of gaining access to an inexhaustible wellspring of joy, purpose, connection, and creativity within us — made possible through this essential Self-knowledge.

However, a precursor to this realization is acknowledging all aspects of our personality. Ignoring or denying some of them is like playing Solitaire with missing cards — winning is only possible with a full deck. Early psychoanalysts termed these disowned aspects “shadow,” while “projection” — its belligerent counterpart — serves to seemingly offload them onto other people.
This unholy pairing not only creates serious obstacles in our daily lives but also warps our emotional landscape, making it harder to fully embrace the depth of our experience.
The resulting distortion also hinders recognition of the most exalted knowledge — knowledge at its absolute pinnacle, bringing the search for truth to its natural end, as it is now fully completed.
The degree to which we are willing and able to re-incorporate the shadow — including its emotional dimensions — influences our progress toward the highest goal: the unlimited true Self.
This 'work' is unavoidable, but once we begin, we realize that with the right approach, progress comes more easily than expected. And help is on the way!
We explore what is common to many (or even all) shadow aspects and projections, allowing us to group them and move past obstacles with far greater speed, toward a truly liberating perspective.
