Weekly Meeting: 5 Ways To Reduce Anxiety – Fast, Effective, Practical Techniques

This week in our Thursday meeting we'll be exploring the topic of excessive worry, anxiety, and fear-based thinking – and we'll be looking at some simple (but powerful and fast-acting) techniques, all rooted in Mindfulness, that can help us to free ourselves from the often overwhelming and life-diminishing grip of these painful mental and emotional states.
In the course of the meeting we'll look at the reasons why anxiety plagues so many of us today, and we'll learn the surprisingly straightforward and remarkably simple tools that Mindfulness and meditation provide which can help us to better manage all of this, so allowing us to move into a fuller and much freer experience of life.
Our evening together will include some top teaching, tips and advice from leading experts in the fields of psychology, neuroscience and meditation – including professor Mark Williams (the UK's leading expert on contemporary Mindfulness), the top psychotherapist and meditation teacher Tara Brach, and the clinical psychiatrist and acclaimed neuroscientist Dr Jud Brewer. Plus, the experienced Mindfulness teacher, Shaun Glossop (our Group Co-Ordinator), will be acting as our host for the evening, guiding us through this week's topic and helping to explain everything in a simple, straight-forward, and down-to-earth way.
The meeting will include a range of tips, techniques and practices (which we'll try out in the course of the meeting) that can be taken away and put into immediate action in our everyday lives and, during the meeting, Mark, Tara, Jud and others will share their expertise and advice in a series of short and inspiring video clips, and we'll also join together in some periods of relaxing guided meditation.
