Creative Code Jam

Details

The Creative Code Jam is a monthly gathering of artists, makers, designers, coders, performers, learners and anyone interested in the use of computing skills for artistic expression. The jam is an opportunity to meet likeminded people and get creative together in a relaxed and safe environment.

Creations can range from live visuals and custom VJing tools to visual art and generative design, art installations, net.art, interactive art, projection mapping, sound art and much more.

Our focus is on collaboration between disciplines, spontaneity and experimentation, so making mistakes is not only okay, it's actually encouraged!

And you don't need to be a coder yourself! We are all about the intersection of disciplines so let us repeat this: this event is NOT just for coders! :) If you think you might enjoy building machines that make art, you will have fun!

If you're just getting started, the following video gives a rather comprehensive overview of what creative coding can look like: http://video.pbs.org/video/2322911761/

During the jam, participants from various backgrounds are encouraged to team up and produce new work together. We also often propose exercises that foster creativity, collaboration as well as an exchange of skills between attendees. If there is interest, we may give short a introduction on a topic related to creative coding. The format is open so if you want to suggest an activity, please let us know! If it fits, we will make it happen :)

SAFE SPACE POLICY

The Creative Code Jam is free and open to all, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, social situation or religion.
