This Halloween, we’re doing something a little different! Join us as we celebrate Samhain—the ancient Celtic festival that inspired modern-day Halloween—in the historic Celtic Village of Steinbach.

Before closing for the winter season, the Celtic Village will open its gates for a special evening filled with tradition, firelight, and community spirit. Samhain, marking the Celtic New Year and the onset of winter, was a time of feasting, storytelling, and celebration—and we’ll be reviving that spirit together.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy a vibrant and engaging program. Swedish fires will light up the grounds, while hands-on activities such as spear throwing, leather bag crafting, and scarecrow making invite everyone to take part.

At 7:00 p.m., a torchlight procession will lead to the Celtic Garden, where the captivating story of Halloween’s origins will be shared. The evening will culminate in the burning of handcrafted scarecrows in the campfire—symbolizing good wishes for the year ahead.

From 8:00 p.m., enjoy a live performance by the Irish folk band “Heebie-Jeebies.” Food, beverages, and twist bread will be available throughout the event.

🕔 Time: 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
