Building a Docker Based Platform

Docker and containers in general are the next hot topic in software and infrastructure. Getting started with Docker on your local machine is fairly easy but migrating the same experience to a production environment is still hard. Many problems need to be addressed outside of Docker to form a modern application platform. Luckily, more and more open source tools arise to fill these gaps. This talk will outline the problems which need to be solved and present a possible solution which is used as a base for CloudGear, a container platform as a service. The talk is fairly technical and is aimed at people familiar with software development and system administration.

This talk will be given by Georg Kunz (https://www.meetup.com/members/12929993/), a freelancer specialized on infrastructure automation and software development. His goal is to improve developer's life and provide companies a simpler and better automation of their infrastructure and deployment workflows. He therefore founded CloudGear in 2014 and started working on a container platform product based on Docker to provide managed clusters which offer a great build and deployment workflow out of the box. Besides, he enjoys programming in Ruby and has organized the Swiss Rails user group since 2007.
