Talk 1: An Introduction to developing and deploying with Composer
We are very glad to have Till Klampäckel (http://pear.php.net/user/till) visiting us from Berlin and giving us an introduction into composer.
Abstract:
Creating a package/application Defining dependencies (high-level intro to composer.json) Private vs. public code Running your own composer repository
Talk 2: An auto-sharding Database Cluster in a Nutshell
Ulf Wendel (http://blog.ulf-wendel.de/) told me I should remind everyone to bring their soldering iron! Actually I have no idea why, as I wasn't attending this interesting talk on the IPC 2013. But make sure you'll have one with you ;-)
Abstract:
Auto-sharding, five-nines high availability, scalability, SQL but not only SQL interfaces and extreme throughput of 4 billion read transactions per minute - that's MySQL Cluster. Improvements such as condition push down to speed-up cross shard queries and easier maintenance make it attractive for web usage. Can it be explained in a nutshell and run in a briefcase?
