Forking in PHP

(Carsten Ennulat, Refined Labs GmbH)

Did you know about forking in PHP? This talk will show you how you could save time by using PHP forks. You will also get an idea what you should do and more important what you should not do.

In 2002, Carsten found a book about something called PHP. This was the beginning of a love that is still alive and led to his becoming a professional programmer 6 years later. Now he is the team lead at Refined Labs GmbH, specialising in PHP and Javascript.

Easing the transtion from PHP5 to PHP7: Use the scalar typehints now!

(Mathias Burger, TNG Technology Consulting GmbH)

Scalar typehints can improve the performance of your php7 code. But what
if your environment team needs some time to switch from php5 to php7?
With a small performance penalty you can transition to scalar typehints
and even return types right now! And there is not even need for branching.

Mathias Burger is working passionately with PHP for over 5 years. As Senior Consultant at TNG Technology GmbH he is currently implementing and refactoring order entry systems for the customer.
