Prenzlauer Berg - Tour through Ernst-Thälmann-Park

Lovely people,

As I grew up in Prenzlauer Berg and was born in GDR times (jaja, I know I look much younger 😅), I’d love to take you on a tour through Ernst-Thälmann-Park, the GDR’s last major prestige housing project.

Along the way, we’ll discover how Prenzlauer Berg went from a working-class neighbourhood to one of Berlin’s most expensive and sought-after areas after the fall of the Wall.

We’ll also take a look at Ernst-Thälmann-Park, whose apartments are still highly popular today.

Afterwards, we can head to one of the many bars or pubs in the area, grab a drink, and reflect on just how crazy life under the GDR regime really was. 🤪
