PostgreSQL Berlin is back!

Details
We are thrilled to announce our next in-person meetup, taking place after an extended hiatus!
Mark Thursday, May 11th at 19:00 on your calendar! Adjust GmbH kindly hosts the event.
We are happy to introduce our speakers, Elena Grahovac and Divyendu Singh.
Elena is an Engineering Team Lead at FerretDB. With 14+ years of experience in IT, she specializes in software reliability, particularly in writing high-available applications in Go.
The title of her talk is "Building an open-source MongoDB-compatible database on top of PostgreSQL".
In this talk, we will delve into FerretDB, an open-source MongoDB alternative that allows MongoDB clients to use PostgreSQL as a backend.
In particular, we will discuss the following:
- How FerretDB maps BSON documents to PostgreSQL JSONB
- The technical details of how indexes work within FerretDB
- Edge cases that can arise with big floats
- Specifics of dot notation
Divyendu is a computer engineer, interested in Postgres and TypeScript. Loves building small side projects for fun. On most weekends, he can be found playing/watching Football
He will be talking about PLV8ify - TypeScript to PostgreSQL Functions.
PLV8ify is a CLI tool that helps you write TypeScript with the developer experience of the original language but running it directly in PostgreSQL using PLV8. This talk explores PostgreSQL's procedural language hooks and use cases for tools/ecosystem around it.
Please note that we have a limited capacity of 30 attendees for this event. If you cannot attend, kindly update your RSVP status, making your spot available for someone else to join.
Looking forward to seeing you in Berlin in May!
