***The Movie:***

Paris 1941. François Mercier is an ordinary man whose only goal is to start a family with the woman he loves, Blanche. He is also the employee of a talented jeweler, Mr. Haffmann. But faced with the German occupation, the two men will have no choice but to enter into an agreement whose consequences, over the months, will change the destinies of our three characters.

The result is a “chamber thriller” with social resonances, based on artificial but effective narrative suspense, and on excellent soloists: Gilles Lellouche is a very convincing bastard in spite of himself, Daniel Auteuil in the role of the jeweler is at his taciturn peak, while Sara Giraudeau brings to her score a richness and depth that were not evident on paper. – Positif
