Cultivating the Project Manager’s Emotional Quotient (Earn 2 PDUs)
Details
Synopsis
Project Management is a people profession. The Project Manager [PM] primarily deals with people; that is, the project stakeholders. A PM contends with clients, colleagues, team members, executives, bosses, and a host of characters who influence the project outcomes of success or failure. The PM needs people skills to build, maintain, and get the best from those many interlocking relationships. Ergo, the PM needs Emotional Intelligence [EQ]. This presentation addresses the secret to being an excellent Project Manager – cultivating one’s people and EQ skills.
The presentation will address the following:
- Identify the best practices of effective project leadership, explain difference between leadership and management, and differentiate the characteristics of effective and ineffective leadership.
- Discuss Emotional Intelligence [EQ] as key to excellence as Project Manager, address why EQ matters, explain EQ dimensions, apply EQ to project leadership.
- Opine on “Will Artificial Intelligence [AI] replace Project Managers in the Future?”
