Talk description:
We are going to do a whirlwind tour of many of the avenues available
to write more efficient Python. We will start with optimizing pure
Python code and then consider data analysis libraries like NumPy or
Pandas. We will also discuss frameworks to scale up and scale out like
Dask. When Python is not enough we will explore ways of write more
efficient solutions using low-level languages, especially Cython.

This discussion will take into consideration the hardware and software
architecture surrounding Python: CPU and GPU architectures; Transient
and persistent storage; and the network/cloud.

Speaker's bio:
Tiago is a Data Engineer with more than 15 years of experience. He worked in the bioinformatics field for the last 10 years with a book published on the subject -- Bioinformatics with Python cookbook - second edition. He has worked both in industry and academia. He is one of the authors of one of the main projects in the field of bioinformatics: Biopython. He is currently writing a book on efficient Python for data science -- Fast Python for Data Science available in early access.

Talk description:
Over the last decade, while working in software industry, I had opportunity to make huge number of mistakes, both small and large. This left me with anecdotes, which will hopefully leave you amused and a bit wiser :)

Speaker's bio:
Bojan has been working with Python and ML related stuff for almost a decade. During his career experience, he had the opportunity to work with companies of all sizes: from several employees to several hundreds employees. He helped them on creating PoC, as well as getting existing solutions into production.
