Our third Meetup Event, on the second Tuesday in march, will happen in Cologne again. It will be hosted by cleverbridge AG right in the center of the city.

#1 Talk: Michael Peters - basic math of neural networks - in 4 slides, a spreadsheet and python

This talk is based on the book Grokking Deep Learning by Andrew Trask and gives an insight on how the math behind a neural networks works. This process will be explained from spreadsheet to python code

#2 Talk: Camilla Hemmer - Implementing an Email Classification System in Legacy Tech - Expectation vs Reality

This post-mortem talk will examine the outcome and take apart the steps toward the development of an email Classification system placed into production in an insurance company. The talk will cover how our team handled working with the raw email data, what the development setup in a highly regulated industry (usually) looks like, the stages from implementation to production environment, and finally, what our expectations of the process were at the beginning off the project versus what it actually ended up looking like.
