Pydata CoBo #4: Virtual edition with DPDHL

Hello PyData CoBo,

After more than a year of now live talks, we have decided that enough is enough. We are joining the ranks of amazing PyData virtual formats. The plan is to have a brief welcome back to everyone and then a single talk with a Q&A session (so there is no early zoom fatigue).
After that there will be some break out sessions so that we can at least get the virtual equivalent of socialising and you are all welcome to stay a bit longer and chat about Data Science and beyond.

Thorsten Kranz will be our first speaker in this virtual format. He is a Lead Data Scientist at the Data Analytics Center of Excellence at Deutsche Post DHL Group. A brief abstract of his talk can be found below:

Data Analytics & AI are essential building blocks of DPDHLs strategy 2025. In his presentation Thorsten describes the journey of scaling those initiatives to a global level. He explains the hybrid organizational approach involving both a Center of Excellence and decentralized Data Science teams distributed across the group.

After providing an overview of the current landscape of use cases DPDHL is working on he takes a closer look at two of them and at the technologies that make up the work environment for the Data Scientists, including Kubeflow and Auto ML.

He concludes by deriving generic success factors that are crucial for delivering Data Science at scale.
