Hooks and Functional Programming

Details

Dear React lovers in Munich,

we are excited to invite you after more than two years of pandemic to our first onsite event of the React Munich Meetup group on October, 6th, 2022 at Netlight's office in Munich.

We will have 2 talks and an open slot for another talk. YOU are invited to propose a talk. In case the preparation time would be too short for this meetup, nevertheless please consider to propose a talk which could be presented in an upcoming meetup, as we are planning to do meetups more regularily in future.

As it was tradition in the pre-pandemic times, we will have some food and drinks sponsored by Netlight during the meetup and of course, sufficient time for talking, meeting old friends, and getting new friends.

Please note that we close the registration some days before the event. Please RSVP only if you really plan to attend, since we need to order the food in advance.

🎙 Our Speakers

I think my hook exploded - Philipp Fehrmann

This is the tale of small and innocent hooks. They are born nice and shiny, they mature and become big and strong, and they continue growing. Until there is this one tiny little feature they cannot handle anymore. Sound familiar? Let us explore situations most of us have encountered – and what we can do to circumvent them.

Philipp is a frontend developer at Netlight. If you want to make him happy, tell him about the newest CSS features. He is currently working at an e-mobility-focused company.

Functional programming with JavaScript - Bruno Ferreira Battista

We will talk about JS functions in the most mathematical sense of the term, and how these functions can help us create solid, secure, independent and combinable solutions.

We will also talk about the "non-functions" that we use are very important in our everyday solutions. After this distinction, I hope I can help you make decisions about when to use "functions" and "procedures".

Bruno works as frontend engineer at MediaMarktSaturn in the Checkout team.
