Why would we introduce training in UX research for product teams?
The desire for quality user insights is growing exponentially, but the demand for this research often outweighs the capacity of research teams. For UX research leaders, this creates the challenge of scaling research. In an ideal scenario, unlimited resources would allow for the hiring of additional researchers, but that's not always possible.

The JetBrains Market Research & Analytics Team introduced the educational “Laboratory of User Research Methods” program, which aims to help product teams conduct user research on their own using the research team's best practices. Over two months, participants study different topics, participate in workshops, and complete tasks under the mentorship of researchers, with the most motivated becoming Research Champions.

The creators of this educational program will share their vision of the program’s goals, content, and design, as well as the outcomes of the program and the lessons learned.

During the brainstorming session, we encourage you to share your experiences, what is working well at your companies, and find ideas on what else you can do to scale research. We will collect a library of ideas that you can put into practice.

🎤 Speakers:
Maria Antropova, Head of Market Research & Analytics, JetBrains

Maria has a background in the Psychology of Human-Computer Interaction and Software Development. Maria has 18 years of work experience, including positions in industry, academia, teaching, and pro-bono research projects.
Maria is engaged in developing a research culture strategy within the company and coordinating various research teams. Additionally, Maria mentors research leaders, facilitates knowledge exchange sessions, and conducts self-initiated research as an independent researcher.

Elli Ponomareva, Senior UX Researcher, Research Ambassador Team Lead, JetBrains

Elli has a background in Cultural Anthropology and has been involved in qualitative research both in academia and in industry for the past 10 years. She worked at several companies as a UX Researcher before joining JetBrains in 2020. Elli leads a team of Research Ambassadors who serve as dedicated research consultants and coordinators for their respective product teams. She was actively involved in creating the “Laboratory of User Research Methods” program and runs the course workshops together with colleagues.

Evgeniya Igolnikova, Educational Project Coordinator, JetBrains

Evgeniya is an expert in training and development, with 10 years of experience in international companies. Her focus of interest is on creating training programs in various innovative formats that help employees be successful in the constantly changing world.
