If you work with spatial data, in this meetup you will get some ideas to do nice maps using R!
We will present an overview of a few different ways to make nice maps, both static and interactive.
We will start by building a plot using ggplot2 to visualize data with spatial information.
Then, we will introduce some basic concepts to work with georeferenced data in R, like vector, raster and reference system. We will explore the packages that allow us to manipulate this data into R.
We will finally explore the package tmap for rapidly creating beautiful and interactive maps!!

If you want also to run the code we will share consider installing the following packages before the start of the meetup:

  • ggplot2
  • tidyverse
  • raster
  • sf
  • tmap
  • tmaptools
  • rnaturalearth

The meetup will be hosted online via Zoom -- the info to enter the meetup will be sent out via Meetup shortly before the start time. If you do not receive an E-Mail check your spam folder.
