During this workshop we will introduce the concept of version control using Git, RStudio and GiHub. We will learn the basic Git commands and how to use them directly from R-Studio. I will show how to link your R-Projects with GitHub to create online repositories to share your work and how it can be used for collaboration. At the end I will do a short demo on uploading a small WebPage to Github such as the one from R-Ladies Seattle

https://github.com/rladies-seattle/rladies-seattle-organizing

If you have some time to prepare before the Meetup I would recommend you to:

· create a GitHub account (if you do not have one yet) on https://github.com/

· download and install Git from https://git-scm.com/

For the last part of the meetup some very basic knowledge or markdown/Rmarkdown in recommended, but not mandatory, we will also go through it. If you want, you can have a look to the first 35 minutes of this video about RMarkdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H91WSwALx1A
