//Talk #1 - Blockchain and Scala - Gerhard Schneckenleitner

This talk is about learnings and ideas writing projects for customers using blockchain technology in Scala. From prototypes to production-ready applications. And the “Franz- framework”, a multichain driver written in Scala.

Gerhard Schneckenleitner is software developer and Co-Founder of legalminds GmbH. His focus is on developing distributed solutions in Scala and Javascript. Lately he is also using blockchain technology to develop applications for customers to enable new business models.

This lightning talk will provide you with a quick overview about how to increase the testability of your code base by utilizing the Tagless Final pattern to create an abstraction for side-effecting code and how to use this for testing purposes.

I am a 25 year old developer at Firstbird. During my time at Firstbird I learned how to write code in Scala and utilize functional programming concepts to my advantage. I am fairly new to Scala and functional programming in general, however I totally fell in love with it and I wouldn’t want go back!
