Sangria is an amazing GraphQL implementation for Scala. Gutefrage and Highfivve are using Sangria in production and we want to share some of our lessons learned, experiments and microservice integrations with the world.

Error Handling in GraphQL is not straightforward as the rest. When it comes to expected errors, like input validation, there GraphQL spec doesn't offer any guidance. We will present a solution how to add more type information to the GraphQL error type with Sangria Scala and Apollo GraphQL Codegen.

In this retrospective view Felix will talk about the lessons learned using GraphQL (in Scala) and what aspects are not often talked about when GraphQL's merit is discussed.
