New year, new Search Meetups!

For starting the new year right, we’re very happy to announce our first Search Meetup in 2017. As in all our Meetups before, we would like to get together in a nice and easy atmosphere, talking about technical issues while having snacks and drinks.

#1: How to write your own Ingest processor for Elasticsearch
This talk will give a brief introduction into the new ingest node feature since Elasticsearch 5.0 and also have a quick coding session, how to write your own processor. By Alexander Reelsen, Elastic.

#2: The 80/20 Rule and reliably ingesting data into search engines
Getting data into search engines is easy. But when it comes to retaining all the information and making it robust, things get more complicated. This talk highlights common pitfalls when it comes to functional and especially non-functional requirements for connectors. By Christian Groß, Raytion.
