(This is an international event, please see German text below)

Coming in from a launch at the PHPBenelux conference in Antwerp, legendary WurstCon (http://wurstcon.com/) is making a stopover in Cologne to join our user group for a crossover event!

What we can reveal so far is that there will be talks by Jeremy Mikola (@jmikola (https://twitter.com/jmikola)) and another exciting international speaker, along with other guests from the international PHP community traveling along with the WurstCon trek, possibly a couple of surprises, drinks, and food.

Talk Abstract 1

An exciting international guest to speak on the topics of Community, Software Craftsmanship, Personal Growth & Professional Development.

Talk Abstract 2

Async PHP with React Event-driven programing is a familiar and useful tool for crafting client/server apps and asynchronous libraries. Akin to Node.js or Python’s Twisted, React brings PHP up to speed with all of the necessary pieces in a well-packaged framework. This session will introduce the concept of event loops, non-blocking IO, and async programming in PHP, and explore ways it can serve in your technology stack.

Speaker: Jeremy Mikola

Jeremy Mikola is a software engineer living in Hoboken, NJ. He currently works for MongoDB as a software engineer on the PHP driver. He has previously built great things with Symfony2 at Exercise.com, OpenSky, and IAC.
