We are thrilled to welcome a special guest speaker, Viola Reise, Communications Designer & Director of Brand Strategy. Viola will present on the topic: “Superpower and Kryptonite – Or: What is neurodiversity, where lies its potential for creatives, and why should we all care?”

What is neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is the idea that people experience and interact with the world in different ways due to diverse neurological conditions like autism, ADHD and dyslexia. Rather than viewing these conditions as deficits, neurodiversity encourages us to see them as natural variations of the human mind, each with its own strengths and challenges.

Why is neurodiversity important in design?
This talk will explore the current understanding of neurodiversity, how it manifests in daily life, and why it holds immense potential, particularly in creative industries.
Interestingly, the proportion of neurodivergent individuals in creative professions is above average. Their unique strengths and ways of thinking make them particularly suited for human-centric design. Viola will explore how neurodiverse individuals bring fresh perspectives to creative work, and how embracing these differences can drive innovation.
