Why health?

Have you ever googled your symptoms? Up two 2/3 of German internet users will google their symptoms before consulting a doctor. The reason to ask Dr. Google first may be due to the fact that there are no appointments available in close proximity to the patient’s home, a lack of basic medical information or shame related to the body or medical taboos.Even though the reasons behind googling your symptoms may not be fixed with a bot, it can certainly improve the search for medical advice.

What are chatbots?

Chatbots are computer programs that mimic conversation with people using artificial intelligence. Bots are lines of codes that can reside for example in any of the popular social messaging applications used today. Such programs are often designed to convincingly stimulate how a human would behave as a conversational partner. Some chatterbots use sophisticated natural language processing systems, but many systems simply scan the input for keywords.

This meetup is bilingual. It will take place in German and English. Speak whichever language you prefer.

Alexander Braun, Creative Construction (http://www.creativeconstruction.de/): Alexander is founder and CEO of digital strategy consultancy CREATIVE CONSTRUCTION. Online from the very first days of the web in 1995, Alexander has been active in developing internet projects and startups since 1999. From 2003 to 2007 he developed internet-based business models for the media industry in management positions at Bertelsmann in London, Shanghai, and Toronto. He is author and co-author of books on Artificial Intelligence and Chatbots, Internet and the digital transformation of companies and business models. He holds a Master of Business and Economics from University of St. Gallen and completed executive education programs at INSEAD and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Hajnalka Héjja, MediLad (http://medilad.com/): Hajnalka is a medical doctor who worked in research, drug safety for pharmaceuticals and in marketing. She is the CEO of MediLad, creating virtual health assistant that focuses on women's health. MediLad developed 'Izzy' a chatbot initially for period and fertility tracking, that will also tackle down other taboos on reproductive health like contraception and sexually transmitted diseases.

Marvin Rottenberg, Head of Marketing at Ada (https://ada.com/): Before joining Ada, Marvin spent several years at Google and specialized in performance & brand marketing where he consulted with startups and multinational corporations on digital growth strategies. He received his Masters of Science degree in Political Economy at the London School of Economics for his research on China’s and India’s evolving E-commerce landscapes. At Ada, Marvin oversees the marketing team and is responsible for user acquisition, branding and growth.
