What is this meetup about? Check it out:

From refugees and migrants without a roof in their new country to leaky roofs in the slums of Africa, our speakers in this edition give back their dignity to the disadvantaged - Social-Bee by providing professional reinsertion and Start Somewhere by giving durable housing, one concrete block at a time.

Mathias Wiedemann, Sales & Business Development
Social-Bee is a social business that takes corporate social responsibility with the goal to make the world better, integrating refugees and migrants by providing job opportunities. As a non-profit organization, they reinvent the model of temporary work in a social way. They hire the disadvantaged and place them in companies. The resulting income is used to provide care and training for the refugees. The goal is to offer a stable contract after 1.5 years at the latest.
Every life matters - with every job they create perspectives and promote a colorful society.

Oliver Von Malm, Kristina Cress, and Silvia Hesse
Start Somewhere is a non-profit limited organization from Munich with eight years of experience in development cooperation in one of the largest slums in Africa: Kibera, Nairobi (Kenya). The vision of Start Somewhere is the sustainable improvement of living conditions in the slums of this world. In concrete terms, Start Somewhere is developing a flexible, reusable, cost-effective and fireproof construction system for buildings in slums. The resulting hollow concrete blocks can be assembled and disassembled by hand as a modular, mortarless plug-in system. For the first time, any angle can also be realized steplessly in the floor plan.
