Rock concerts@Open Doors Festival
Veranstaltet von Open Expat Meetup Frankfurt: "Inti Culti" (Social & Culture)
Details
Tonight we hit a music festival largely unknown in Frankfurt, „Open Doors“ in Neu-Isenburg, over 40 concerts over the whole weekend throughout town, at free entrance
Meeting point: Hugenottenhalle Neu-Isenburg . This can be reached by a combination of S-Bahn and Bus, but the easiest is to take tram 17 from FFM Hauptbahnhof leaving 17:46 for Neu-Isenburg Stadtgrenze (a RMV ticket for Frankfurt is good to go there). From the tram stop it‘s a gentle 15 mins walk to Hugenottenhalle, central venue of the festival (bring cash for drinks/food, some stalls don’t take cards).
There are several concerts happening at the same time, you can go to your preferred stage any time. For ease of orientation I suggest as itinerary these concerts, for which no roaming through the city is needed. The exact meeting point is not inside the nHugenottenhalle, but near the music stage just in front of it, coming from Frankfurter Str it’s on the left-hand side, the venue of the first concert:
18:30 Makia. Latin-Rock band with Cuban/Mexican members, known to some of you from previous Meetup events. Their gig starts around 6pm (arrive early if you like) till 8pm.
20-21 HeRo. German Pop duo, formerly known as Die Lochis, which had a German No1 hit a decade ago. Plays inside the Jahrhunderthalle, so we just need to walk inside. Please note that there will be security checks and no glass bottles and own alcohol are allowed inside. Their gig continues until 9:30 but I would prefer to continue to another one:
21-23 Pfund. One of the best cover rock bands of the region, with mixed songs from the last 5 decades. They perform on yet another stage, when facing the Hugenottenhalle you have to walk around the building on the right of the entrance and then straight for 100 meters and you hit the stage on Rosenauplatz where they play. So very little walking between stages if you stay with the default itinerary.
You can leave any time to roam around the festival, with 10 performances on Saturday evening there’s lots of choice. You can also return to the tram stop any time and be back in Frankfurt at the preferred hour. There will also be opportunity to watch the World Cup quarter final in the vicinity of the festival.
we‘ll post updated location within the festival venue on the event page.
