If you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit; not in your home country, or the new one, not in your relationships, not even in your own story sometimes — this conversation is meant for you.

Common Ground is a monthly community gathering in Berlin exploring how we connect, communicate, love, and grow through life’s transitions.
We talk and engage with things that often stay unspoken like sense of belongingness, identity, shame, family, home, love but with gentleness, honesty, and curiosity.

What should I expect?
This edition explores belongingness, and the human need to be seen, heard, held and grounded.

Through guided discussion, reflective prompts, and small group dialogues, we’ll explore questions like:

  • What does belonging mean to you and and where do you feel it most?
  • How do transitions (moving cities, changing roles/dynamics) affect your sense of home?
  • What does it mean to belong to ourselves before belonging to others?

You’ll be guided through moments of reflection and gentle sharing, with space to simply listen if you prefer. Feel free to connect with the others if you wish to, open up as much or as little, whatever that feels right.

When & Where?
Sunday, October 26th at 15h (for 2 hours)
At The Castle, Mitte, we will be in the back room with the pool table. Please feel free to ask the staff at the bar, and they will guide you, right to us!

Who is this event for?
Everyone is welcome - all genders, identities and backgrounds. Whether you’ve been in Berlin for years or arrived last week, come as you are.
This event offers a safe space to share your experiences, feelings and thoughts in a supportive environment.

What should I bring?
Just yourself with an open mind, and maybe an object or photo that represents “home” to you (absolutely optional)

Do I have to share?
It is entirely your choice, all we request for you to listen respectfully, and hold space for others to share.

Only Promise
You don’t have to have the answers. You don’t even have to speak.
All that’s asked is that you come with openness and maybe, together, we’ll rediscover the small, spaces where we all belong.

The series will be facilitated by Drishti Jaisingh, a psychological counsellor (reach me @mhwithdrishti)
