**Trance Journeys along Forgotten Pagan Paths** In the **Rauhnächte**, the nights between years, Central European folklore speaks of the **Wild Hunt**: a powerful procession of spirits, ancestors, animal forces, and elemental beings moving through the winter darkness. Led by figures such as Wodan/Odin or Frau Perchta, **the Wild Hunt embodies the untamed forces of nature — chaotic, cleansing, and deeply transformative**. In pre-Christian traditions, **encountering the Wild Hunt meant coming face to face with what cannot be controlled**: death and rebirth, fate, instinct, and the raw truth of the natural world. It tore down false order and carried away what no longer belonged, making space for renewal. In modern life, many of us live far from these rhythms. **We are overstimulated yet disconnected, constantly managing, planning, optimizing — often exhausted by the need to hold everything together.** During the darker months, unprocessed grief, fear, and fatigue tend to surface, while our culture offers little space to truly release or transform them. This shamanic drum circle invites us to **ride the Wild Hunt instead of resisting it**. Through the steady pulse of the drum, we step out of linear time and into a deeper, older rhythm. **We allow what is no longer alive in us — habits, identities, expectations — to be carried off by the wild forces of midwinter.** Riding the Wild Hunt is an act of surrender and reclamation. **We reconnect with instinct, with ancestral memory, and with the part of ourselves that knows how to move through uncertainty without control.** In doing so, we find strength, clarity, and a grounded sense of belonging — not by taming the wild, but by remembering that we are part of it. Hi folks, this is a special meetup group for the regular Blood on the Clocktower games every Sunday in the Brewdog in Berlin Friedrichshain. We run beginner-friendly and intermediate-level games throughout the afternoon and evening. **Friendly newcomers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required!** Our group aims to provide a fun and welcoming space to experience this thrilling game of social deception. **We focus on promoting a positive and fun group atmosphere, where players don’t take themselves or the game too seriously, whether they’re heroically winning or spectacularly losing.** Our players follow the code of conduct for the Berlin Board Gamers group and are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration – “killing with grace, and dying with dignity”. We are usually able to offer two simultaneous games on Sundays. If you are marked as "attending" in Meetup and are in your seat at 15:00, your place is guaranteed for as long as you want to stay. All other seats are first come, first served. We always run at least one beginner-friendly game of the basic version of Clocktower ("Trouble Brewing") throughout the afternoon and evening. We also usually have enough players for a second intermediate-level game. If you are already very familiar with Clocktower, consider also joining our Tuesday meetup for advanced players, when we play with complex custom scripts and characters. Blood on the Clocktower is a deep, mechanical game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception… think Werewolf on steroids. Each player receives a unique secret role and plays either for the good team – the uninformed majority, gathering info and working with others to solve the puzzle – or the evil team, the informed minority, scheming to eliminate good players and protect their demon from execution. In our beginner games no prior experience is expected and we will gladly explain the game rules to any newcomers. We play in English so players should be able to understand and express themselves in English: an exception is possible for one pair of players willing to play together (as a “Revolutionary” pair) where one player can interpret into and out of English. Persönlich habe ich den Sitz 22, Reihe 10, Block Nord. Wenn ihr Glück habt und ihr Plätze neben mir findet ist es umso besser. Da steht nichts von Poetry...“ Naja, Dichter nehmen oft Bezug auf die Sterne, glaube ich. Das ist eine Verweisung in die Wissenschaft, halt einen Vorschlag, dass man den Kopf hochhalten und aufrechterhalten solle. Zum Beispiel, der Dichter Philip Larkin im Gedicht ‚The North Ship‘, im ersten Gedicht, erzählt „Under a fire-spilling star,“. Für Poetry gibt es den Zusammenhang von den Sternen, und wenn man keine Kenntnis von diesem Zusammenhang hat, kann man die Gedichte nicht ganz gut lesen. Denn wir uns für das Lesen von Gedichten interessieren, sind Sternstunden gut. Kenntnis von den Sternen sind auch gut wenn man unterwegs ist, und wir möchten oft unterwegs sein. Auf die Sternstunde, das Gespräch, und die Gesellschaft freuen wir uns!!

Join us for chill **indoor** beach volley! 🏐 🏐 🏐 This event is for everyone who enjoys chill games and is not a *complete* beginner (A1.5+). We play 3v3 (or 4v4) with beach rules. There are no trainers at this event. Register via [the simultaneous event](https://www.meetup.com/berlin-volley/events/) for higher-level 2v2 matches (F1+). After playing, you can join us for socials with drinks and snacks at the bar area. We often play a social deduction game, which you're also welcome to join. We play in domes that are heated up to at least 15C. It's recommended that you come 10 minutes early so you have time to change and find the fields. If it is your first time, 15 minutes might be even better. You can join whatever court you like and move between courts during the event. Our January program is privileged to have Kristen Tregar as our speaker. Ms. Tregar is the co-author with John de Lancie (the actor who portrayed the character Q on Star Trek next generation) of a radio play depicting the events surrounding the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial. The trial decided the issue of some of the Dover school district board members attempting to insert creationism disguised as "intelligent design" into the 9th grade biology curriculum. She will discuss the trial and the process of writing the play. (Bob Leonhard has seen the play and it is riveting and tense). Ms. Tregar's bio is below: Kristen Tregar is a dramaturg, director, playwright, and theatre teacher. She earned her Ph.D. in Drama and Theatre from the UC San Diego and UC Irvine joint program. In addition, she has a MS in Forensic Science from City University of New York- John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a MA in Educational Theatre from New York University- Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. In 2013, in collaboration with Irish colleagues, she founded *The Ireland Project*, an intercontinental devised theatre work with high school students in New York and Tallaght, Ireland. Her original short story "Far From Here" was recently published in *Stay Awhile Longer: More Scenes From Temecula Valley*. She has two rescued dogs (Kira and Harry) and she rides, competes, and foxhunts with her horses, Andromache and Baker Street Irregular. Food and drinks will be provided at the event.
