* **❌ Non è psicoterapia**

**Many participants in our walks speak English, so don’t worry if your Italian isn’t perfect — everyone is welcome!**
An exclusive itinerary through panoramic terraces, medieval enigmas, and underground secrets. You will discover details that escape most passersby.
🌹 **Alchemical Flowers:** We will start from a hill linked to an ancient pagan cult. This is absolutely the best time of the year to visit and admire it at the peak of its splendor. Guided by sacred geometries, we will look for a rose that changes color and another with an unpleasant scent.
👑 **The Terrace of the Colossus:** From a secret balcony, we will gaze upon a majestic 13-meter-high masterpiece: an emperor portrayed as a god with the symbols of absolute power.
📐 **The Crooked Fortress:** We will see a leaning medieval tower right before our eyes. We will unveil the historical lie that links it to the mad imperial fire.
🪨 **The Balcony with a Dark Past:** A romantic viewpoint that hides a tragic origin. It takes its name from the woman who betrayed her homeland out of greed for jewelry, becoming the most feared scaffold of antiquity.
⛓️ **The Prisoners' Cave:** We will descend near an underground site carved into the tuff rock, where barbarian kings and saints capable of making miraculous water spring from the walls were once imprisoned.
🚇 **The Construction Sites of Time:** We will pass next to great modern works that connect the city's future to its deep past.
🎬 **The Garden of Excavated Earth:** We will conclude among archaeological finds unearthed in the 19th century, right in front of the most famous monument in the world.

If you’re part of our WhatsApp group, you already know that **this month’s Italian book club read is:**
**📖 *Il custode* by Niccolò Ammaniti**
*Il custode* (2026) by Niccolò Ammaniti is a “dark fable” set in Sicily, following thirteen-year-old Nilo Vasciaveo. Nilo and his family guard an ancient, deadly, mythological secret hidden in their bathroom, living in isolation in a small village. The novel explores the loss of innocence, adolescent desire, and the weight of family legacies, with horror and surreal undertones.
**For our international book club:**
**📖 *Luster* by Raven Leilani**
Sharp, funny, disruptive, and tender, Raven Leilani’s debut novel portrays a young black woman trying to make sense of her life, her desires, and her anger in a time of major change and new awareness.
**You can read one or both, or you can also come without reading any of them!**
**✨ Blind Book Swapping ritual**

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
How to Move on From the Past and Feel Happy
In this local meeting, you will discover knowledge that you can use to get over the past.
The key to improving your personal motivation, self-confidence, and happiness is to get over your painful memories.
When you become free of your past, you will be free from stress, anger, anxiety and depression. Studies show that negative emotions can affect your health. By being free of negative emotions, believe it or not, you will most likely even look younger, feel more energetic, and become healthier!
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This group is brought to you by the Dianetics and Scientology life improvement center.
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!

Drunken Philosophy: What’s up with all the AI hate?
**Welcome to Drunken Philosophy** a casual, curious social discussion
**Optional topic for this meetup: What's up with all the AI hate?**
A recent survey found that 74% of Americans have a negative view of AI, and I want to know why. Come out and debate whether AI is good or bad.
My hot take: a labor-saving tool that could potentially help cure cancer gets called dangerous because it might raise unemployment or cause a speculative investment bubble, that tells you a lot more about capitalism and the economic system we live under than it does about the tool itself. As a computer programmer, I think AI is a wonderful tool that has increased my productivity by at least an order of magnitude. I'd go so far as to say Claude Code is the best tool I have ever used. Debate me and name a better one.
Is AI potentially dangerous? Yes, but so are a lot of tools. Chainsaws. Steam engines (early ones would occasionally explode and kill everyone in the room). Do you think cavemen sat around debating whether fire could be used as a weapon or for self-harm, and decided not to discover it?
I have two friends who hate AI for opposite reasons: one thinks it's a fad and not useful, and the other thinks it's going to take over everything and cause human extinction.
Come out tonight, have a friendly debate, and make some friends.
No lectures. Friendly crowd. Drop in for one drink and stay if it's fun.
