Tuesday Board Games
Happening weekly on Tuesday, EGAD hosts a community night for those who are wanting to play some board games. No knowledge of games needed, just a desire to play and willingness to play with folks from all walks of life.
Long time friend of EGAD (back when we were a games bar named Pause Menu), and board gamer, Kevin is your wonderful host on fortnightly Tuesday. Kevin has been part of our board games nights as long as we have been running them and has a great knowledge of them. The alternate nights are run by our lovely reception team Nick and Orla! They will be there every Tuesday making your hot chocolates and late night coffees.
The event starts at 6:30pm and finishes at 10:30pm and has an entry fee of $10 if you purchase tickets online in advance. Tickets available on the night at the door for $12.
Our space is limited to 16 people. Outside food and drink okay! EGAD has sodas and hot drinks if you would like to have some on site. A note here for accessibility, this event is happening up a flight of stairs.
Play and become a part of our community of board gamers!

Queer Speed Fating @ Hail Lilith
**Tickets:**
[https://events.humanitix.com/queer-speed-fating-hail-lilith-ecl3gwzy](https://events.humanitix.com/queer-speed-fating-hail-lilith-ecl3gwzy)
With dating apps and social media linked to stress, anxiety, poor body image, and low self-esteem, it's no wonder more and more people are looking to make connections in the real world - that's where we come in!
This is a premium twist on our typical speed dating format, with a hint of the occult, and a delicious selection of canapes included with the price of your ticket. We are very excited to be collaborating with [Hail Lilith](https://www.instagram.com/haillilithbar/) for this one!
We welcome queer folks of all genders to join us, and encourage you to come with an open mind - whether you meet new friends, or the love of your life, will be up to fate to decide.
Attendance is strictly limited to 20 people, so if this sounds like your cup of tea, book in early to secure your place.
The event will be organised by a mental health professional, and aims to provide a safe place for everyone; discrimination, harassment, abuse and consent violations will not be tolerated.
**How It Works:**
\- A list of prompt questions will be available to keep the conversation flowing
\- A tarot card will be drawn for each dyad to interpet every time the tables change as a primary or secondary conversation starter
\- An experienced hosts will provide structure\, and will be available for queries throughout the event
\- Attendees are divided into two groups and cycle through 10 minute "fates" at random
\- Some short breaks are provided in between batches of dates to give people the chance to mingle and reset
\- We don't do scorecards; attendees are encouraged to create their own opportunities
If you have any questions, please reach out!
Socialise and discuss a book over coffee
This is April meeting, not March. On second week of month due to Easter. We read Florence Knapp’s novel The Names, about (I think) a family’s conflicts symbolised by the disagreement over what to name a baby son.
The Twentieth Page
Join us for the Twentieth Page!
Theme: music
This month we're reading books that are music-centric.
Biographies by musicians are a great option, but it can be anything which has music as a central theme.
Feel free to bring along any discussion questions you can think of or theme suggestions.
Happy reading :)
See you there!
Thursday night Rainbow Boardgames - Marché Board Games Cafe
Join your fellow LGBTQIA+ folks for a social evening of board games at Marché Board Games Cafe.
We have access to the games library at the cafe. If you have a game that you want to share, please feel free to bring it along. We play all sorts of games - card games, party games, strategy games - and we're happy to teach new players.
Groups for games usually form between 6:30-6:45, so it's important to try arrive on time to ensure you're allocated to a game/group. Anyone arriving late may have to wait for a game if all groups have started.
The cafe has drinks and food available. Check out their menu here: https://mbgcafe.com.au/menu.pdf
We only accept payment at the time of booking to reserve your spot. This means you will need to pay the booking amount via PayPal at the time of booking to confirm your spot.
If you can't make it to the event, please ensure you get in touch by messaging the event hosts or emailing rainbowbg.melbourne@gmail.com at least one day before the event, and we can reverse your payment via PayPal.
The cafe does NOT have a liquor licence. Consuming alcohol on the premises is illegal, and will result in any members being banned from future events.
See you on Thursday!
Meet Queer Friends
Are you part of the LGBT+ community and looking to make some new friends in a relaxed, welcoming environment?
Socialising as an adult isn’t always easy, so this event is designed to make it a little simpler.
Join us for a casual afternoon where like-minded people can meet, chat, and connect.
We’ll be gathering on the deck at **Welcome to Thornbury** for a relaxed afternoon of drinks and conversation. The event is completely **free** and intentionally unstructured - simply arrive, grab a drink, get some food from the trucks on site, and start chatting.
Our events are designed so people can comfortably attend on their own, but bringing a friend is always welcome too.
An experienced host will be present throughout the event to help people settle in, make introductions if needed, and ensure everyone feels comfortable.
**[LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne](https://www.instagram.com/lgbtsocialhubmelb/)** aims to provide a safe space for everyone. Bullying, harassment, and discrimination will not be tolerated.

Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch**
**This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.**
In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse.
Except that the hostess, a former Shanghainese silent film star, is none other than the wife of the man who once destroyed Mei’s entire life.
It is promised the winner will receive a fortune, but there is only one prize Mei wants: revenge.
Decades later, the final night of that competition has become an infamous urban legend: The police were called to the scene of a brutal massacre but found no evidence, dismissing it as a collective hallucination. Mei knows what she saw, but now someone else is convinced they know what she did. She must uncover the truth about the last night she ever spent in that house—even if the ghosts of her past are waiting for her there. . . .
April Book Club
* Second ever book club! April meet up. All are welcome.
* The book will be Play Nice by Rachel Harrison (determined by votes from March Book Club. Let me know if you’d like a free digital copy of the book)
* This event will be at the main library, meeting room 1B, the location will not be changed for this event due to the number of people attending, we will just add more chairs if needed!
* Feel free to come whether or not you’ve started or finished the book ◡̈
* Small snacks will be provided. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks & drinks too!
Starting in June I will try to keep future book clubs at the Dublin Library.
Now that I understand their reservation system, I will be on top of it with booking that location as soon as the date is released for the month. Thanks for your understanding with the varying locations in the meantime.
