**“Box Hill” by Adam Mars-Jones (2020)**
In 1975, eighteen-year-old Colin meets the older biker Ray on Box Hill. Their chance encounter leads to a six-year, tightly controlled relationship in which power, dependence and intimacy intertwine. Told two decades later, the novel offers a nostalgic yet unsparing portrait of a male world shaped by motorcycle racing, power games and dry British humour.
This story of a problematic SM relationship inspired the movie “Pillion” by Harry Lighton. On the Sunday of his eighteenth birthday, in 1975, Colin takes a walk on Box Hill, a biker hang-out in Surrey. There he accidentally trips over Ray, a biker napping under a tree. From the very first moment, the natural authority of the older man in leather exerts an irresistible attraction on Colin. The consequences are his first sexual experience, his first ride on a Norton Commando and his first relationship. On the very same day, he moves in with him – the beginning of a six-year, strictly regimented coupledom in which the boundaries between submission and security dissolve. Told with a time lag of almost twenty years, “Box Hill” depitcs a male idyll of unbridled motorcycle racing, draconian power games and dirty poker rounds with nostalgia, tenderness a charming dose of British humour.

Welcome to the Berliner Bitcoin-Stammtisch, where we gather to talk about the digital currency that's worth more than gold and sometimes causes more drama than a Netflix series.
Join our tribe of business beings, developers, and activists who believe that Bitcoin is the future of money, and El Salvador seems to agree! Here you can learn the ropes of Bitcoin, from buying your first fraction to safely storing your private keys.
Our current hangout spot is Friedel Richter on Torstraße, because ROOM77 is closed until the last block is mined. You can pay in Bitcoin ₿ or Lightning ⚡ and enjoy awesome regional food with an international twist.
So come join the fun, the food, and the revolution! We're waiting for you. 🍔🍔🍔

Baltic Shores: White beaches, dramatic cliffs & lonely lighthouses (3 Days)
***Hike along Europe's top-voted beach, UNESCO heritage forests & Chalky white cliffs that plunge into the emerald waters of the Baltic Sea***
**HOW DO I JOIN THIS TRIP?**
For more detailed info & to get entry for this trip, click on link below 👇🏽:
**WHY GO?**
Let’s discover Germany’s wild north! We hike along endless stretches of unspoilt white beaches framed by the baltic sea and ghostly forests. We encounter a lonely lighthouse or two. Together we wander through a UNESCO heritage forest sitting on top of dramatic chalk cliffs that plunge into the emerald waters of the Baltic Sea. The cherry on top of our nature adventure is our visit to one of the most **Disney-like castles in Germany – Schloss Schwerin** and our stay in the charming Hanseatic harbour town of Rostock.
**WHAT IS THE DETAILED PLAN?**
**Day 1:** We catch a train to the picturesque castle of Schwerin. Schwerin castle sits on an island surrounded by lakes & forests, which all contributes to give it that stunning appearance. We meet our local guide outside the train station and then proceed getting enthralled by his stories about this magical castle town with the tour finishing right by the castle. Post the guided tour, we grab a bite / drink and admire the Castle gardens before heading to Rostock, where we would be staying in for the next 2 nights.
**Day 2:** Post breakfast, we are off to briefly explore the Hanseatic town of Rostock. We then take a train to the seaside town of Sassnitz to discover Rügen island and hike in UNESCO listed national park Jasmund along stunning white chalk cliffs that reach up to 100 meters while surrounded by beech forests. We hike almost the entire Jasmund National park, finishing back at Sassnitz and grabbing a bite / drink before heading back to Rostock.
**Day 3:** Post breakfast & checkout, we take a mix of train & bus to get to the beautiful seaside resort town of Nienhagen (hike starting point), where we would be hiking between Nienhagen beach & Warnemunde beach, one of Germany’s most beautiful beaches. We’ll say hello to an iconic lighthouse and walk 500m into the Baltic sea on a pier in Warnemunde where we grab a bite / drink before heading back to Rostock and then back home.

SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 11:15.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**. We often have a large waiting list, and not updating your RSVP or not showing up if you do RSVP yes means that others miss out. We also ask that if you do change your RSVP, do it with reasonable notice. Thanks! We typically take over all of the cafe, but try to share tables if you can to allow space for other customers.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

CBusData: The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI
One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again.
We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind. You will leave knowing exactly how to identify a bad model, how to convert OLTP data into a clean star schema, and how to forge relationships that rule them all.
Whether you are a data wizard, a curious hobbit, or somewhere in between, your models will never be the same.
