Let’s be one of the first walkers crossing the Vltava on the brand new **Dvorecký bridge** connecting Podolí and Smíchov. Thanks to this new river crossing, we can walk a very interesting, previously impossible route between the Pankrác plain and the Dívčí hrady plateau. The route is packed with many places of interest and fantastic views of Prague from both river banks! We will admire up close the modern high rise buildings at Pankrác as well as hike across a steppe with wild horses. DIFFICULTY: Medium Around 9 km/6 miles, on paved streets and unpaved trails. In total about 150 meters / 500 ft of elevation gain. Rated “medium” because of a steep footpath up to Dívčí hrady. The rest is “easy to medium”. MEETING POINT We will meet at **10:00** on a small plaza in front of the main entrance to the Arkády Pankrác Shopping Centre. The protected landscape area Bohemian Paradise (in Czech Český ráj) is a nature reserve about 90 km north-east of Prague. Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Free Communal Garden Class Series GROWING MUSHROOMS In this class, we will discuss how to raise mushrooms on logs outdoors as a way to raise food in parts of your yard that are usually too shady to grow vegetables or other crops. We will discuss what mushroom species can be cultivated, what tree species they can grow on, and demonstrate how to prepare and inoculate the logs. By following these steps, you can have your own bountiful mushroom harvest!
