Pilgrims to Rome - Via Francigena

Let's go to Rome! The Pilgrims group meets always on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We will walk the Via Francigena from L'Auberson to the Col de Grand St. Bernard https://www.schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/routes/route-070.html

The stage may seem long, but it will be mainly flat on easy terrain.

Along the path are train stations. If we realize that we are tired, it gets dark or is too cold, we can stop at the nearby station.

As the regular pilgrims have a somewhat right to join before other people, I will manage the attendence list. You will be on the waiting list and I will add people to the group manually. Thank you for your comprehension.

The hike should be fun and enjoyable for everyone and a group event, where people support each other. My goal is not to be fast, but to rather appreciate nature and landscape.

Please bring the usual hiking equipment:

• backpack with lunch and and something to drink, e.g. warm tea
• good, comfortable hiking boots
• Tick spray
• hiking clothes acorrding to the weather, maybe a rain jacket and/ or an umbrella (always be prepared for rain)
• hiking poles, if that is something you are feeling more comfortable with.
