The first speaker Dmytro Iaroslavskyi will tell you how to run Doobie queries on top of Futures!
Slick and alternative Future-based database access libraries often can be a blocking factor in migration from the Akka stack. This talk will explore ways to migrate the codebase from Slick to Doobie and prepare your database layer for modern stacks such as Cats Effect and ZIO.
Journey from Alpakka Kafka to FS2 Streams by Balaji Rao
The second speaker Balaji Rao will tell his experience of migrating the codebase away from Alpakka Kafka streaming library!
This talk will dive into how we can employ FS2 Streams and FS2 Kafka libraries to help us achieve painless migration from Alpakka Kafka.
Covering how to keep streaming approach and seamlessly switch traffic on production for a highly loaded solution with zero downtime.
