We are very excited to welcome you to our first WiBD DUS online event in 2021. In this event we are taking you on a journey to elevate your career!

A professional career is a personal journey, which follows a unique path. There is no one size fits all. Sometimes we want to advance in our current role and look for a promotion, other times we want to explore new industries, solve a different set of problems, experience a new company culture and/or learn new skills.

One thing is clear, one way or the other, it is based on continuous learning, developing your skills, staying curious and open for new ideas.

This time we have something special prepared for you. We are going back to the roots of our community and have lined up talks both in German and in English!

Julia is an experienced recruiter in the Tech and Data area. She will equip you with tricks and tips to land your dream job. In data field, there are so many new and upcoming roles, Julia will tell us about the options to enter into and advance your data career and how to set yourself up for a successful application process. Her talk will be in German. Let's be honest, most of the roles in our area do require some level of German skills, so best to start practicing them in a safe environment with us :-).

Solmaz has a very interesting personal journey to a leadership role in tech industry. She will talk about her experience about stretching the boundaries and resilience to pursue the dream and become a successful leader.

As a woman in a leadership position in a technical sector, it is a very important lesson to keep in mind that you are leading and not following! In this talk Solmaz Karami (born and raised in Tehran/Iran) will share her story on how she keeps disrupting herself and extending her S-curve of learning over and over again. Her main advice for other women out there trying to follow their dreams is: don’t overvalue what you don’t do well and certainly do not undervalue what you are best in! Play with your distinctive strength. And through your journey, be brave and not fearless!
