✍️ EVENT DESCRIPTION

For this event, Women Who Code Berlin is partnering with the PPI to bring together the Berlin tech community (that is you!) and a group of visitors from the US. With its Mosaic program, the PPI aims to put more women at the forefront of policy making.
We will discuss the app economy, its staggering growth over the last 15 years and what it means for the German economy and what skills are needed to succeed. How has it developed over the last years? What effects did it have on entrepreneurship and employment?

First, we will hear from Dr. Michael Mandel, VP and Chief Economist at PPI, on his research and analysis of the staggering growth of App Economy jobs and the trajectory of the digital economy globally.

Afterwards we will have a panel discussion on the current landscape for App Economy jobs, the development of digital skills and their value in the broader economy. The panel features some of our own community members!

Following the panel, we will host a reception where you have the chance to enjoy the summer evening with food, drinks and conversations with community members and our visitors from the US. Build new connections with impressive professionals from around the world and from our Berlin community.
