Let's finally meet in person again and join us at the Thoughtworks office in Hamburg. Thoughtworks is partnering with moinworld e.V. and our Women Techmakers Meetup to increase the number of women in technology and motivate girls for tech careers.

This event will be all about why Business Analyst’s think that “Exploring is the new analyzing”. Listen to two talks from Bea Tomino and Adam Bhakrani - both Senior Business Analysts at Thoughtworks. We will talk about why we should use questions to build a culture of learning and empowerment and how to make use of design sprints - to create successful products and services and even use some of their elements in everyday life.

⏰ Agenda:

▶ 6:30 pm Welcome from Thoughtworks and moinworld
▶ 7:00 pm “"Asking over telling: Using questions to strengthen relationships and build a culture of learning and empowerment"
” by Bea Tomino (Senior Business Analyst, Thoughtworks)

Asking powerful questions is doubtless an important skill: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.” For me Albert Einstein has a point here, however questions are not only important for analysis. They are also important to support others in their learning. In this talk I will share my insights about the advantages of asking questions for relationship building and how questions support and empower others in finding their own solutions. I will present my favorite set of questions as a practical guide to start asking (better) questions and share my experiences.

▶ 7:30 pm Short Break
▶ 7:40 pm "Design Sprint: Get data first - then build the solution" by Adam Bhakrani (Senior Business Analyst, Thoughtworks)

In this talk, we’ll gain and understanding on what a Design Sprint is, why it is so effective and examples of successful products/services that occurred after running a Design Sprint. We will also dive into how you can use some elements of a Design Sprint in your everyday working life.

▶ 8:10 pm: Networking
▶ 9:30 pm: See you next time 👋
